Dena Johnson is a seasoned brand strategist and partnership executive with over 25 years of experience building, evolving, and amplifying brands across media, entertainment, and consumer goods. Known as a trusted advisor, Johnson is a rare blend of corporate expertise, creative vision, and entrepreneurial leadership.
As the Founder and CEO of BrandHUE, she leads a team committed to unlocking the true heart of brand identity. Whether through brand audits, strategic positioning, integrated campaigns, or influencer partnerships, BrandHUE specializes in building brands that cut through the noise and leave a lasting impact. Dena’s approach is rooted in the belief that every brand has a unique hue—its own story, essence, and energy—and her mission is to help uncover it and amplify it to the world. BrandHUE thrives at the intersection of culture, content, and commerce.
A proud graduate of Purdue University, Dena began her career in the competitive world of advertising in Chicago, where she worked with top-tier agencies managing national campaigns. She quickly rose through the ranks and relocated to New York City to spearhead TV One's advertising sales department. After laying the foundation for the network’s advertising success, she landed at NBCUniversal, where she mastered brand partnerships as part of Bravo's Marketing and Ad Sales team. There, Dena collaborated with powerhouse brands such as ConAgra, Unilever, P&G, and Taco Bell, crafting noteworthy campaigns that resonated with audiences and drove measurable results.
Her journey continued in Los Angeles as Vice President of Brand Partnerships at TMZ Shows, where she leveraged her expertise to bridge the gap between entertainment and advertising. Dena’s track record of securing high-impact deals and building brand equity ultimately led her to United Talent Agency (UTA), where she became Director of Talent & Brand Partnerships – a role she created. There, she connected world-class celebrity talent with brands for endorsements and long-term sponsorships that aligned authentically with their identities.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Dena is a passionate mentor, advocate for diversity in media, and frequent speaker on branding, partnerships, and the evolving intersection of content, culture, and consumer behavior.
